Federal Election Key Seat Campaign Track: Wave 5

The fieldwork for Wave 5 of the Election Track was conducted between Tuesday 15 April and Tuesday 22 April, 2025 in 20 key Commonwealth electoral divisions (listed below). The sample of N = 1,010 Australian voters in these seats aged 18 and older was recruited over online panel, using quotas for age, gender, location, education and vote at the 2022 federal election to ensure it is representative of the targeted electorates.

Multilevel calibration was used to apply interlocking weights for age, gender, education, religion and location.

The efficiency of these weights was 83 per cent, providing an effective sample size of 835. Based on this effective sample size, the margin of error (95 per cent confidence interval) for a 50 per cent result on the full sample is ± 3.4 per cent.
