New polling shows Premier Jacinta Allan is leading a deeply unpopular Victorian Labor government that voters believe has the wrong focus and priorities, but the opposition still faces an uphill battle to win the next state election despite a boost from a leadership change.
The latest The Australian Financial Review/Redbridge/Accent Research poll shows the Liberal Party’s gamble on knifing leader Brad Battin a year out from the election seems to have paid off, with the Coalition and Labor locked on a 50-50 two-party preferred result.
